Following on from the success of recent art exhibitions featuring the work of photographer Tony Worrall, artist Shiryn Wynter and digital artist Ava Jolliffe, The Larder has launched an exhibition featuring the work of abstract artist Iain H. Williams.
The city centre social food enterprise and arts space approached the Lancashire-based artist to exhibit his colourful work.
“This is a great social enterprise and community-based organisation working on food education and supporting the work of local creatives and arts-based activity in Preston through their ‘Art @ The Larder initiative,” said Iain. “It’s great to be able to work with them and bring the artwork to a new audience that might not necessarily have access to contemporary art.
“We’re also looking at ways to engage not only with the clients but other groups such as students and young people looking to start out within the arts.”
Iain has become an established artist here in the North West, with a selection of paintings currently on show at the newly opened arts-led UNITOM Store in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, which was set up by Universal Tomorrow, a team of art advisors and curators.
Iain’s work featured at last year’s Manchester Art Fair and he was also commissioned to create a triptych painting for Preston Live Arts Festival 2021, which was exhibited at The Harris.
In addition, his work is featured in a short film created by The Artistry House based in Winckley Square.
Iain H. Williams’ work is on show at The Larder at 50 Lancaster Road from Tuesday 25 January to Wednesday 23 March 2022. A launch event will take place on Saturday 12 February 2022 from 3pm to 5pm.
